State Kids Athletics Meet: Ideal Kadakassery Crowned Overall Champions

At the State Kids Athletics Championship (North Zone) held in Kannur, Ideal English School, Kadakassery, Malappuram, emerged as the overall champions.The championship was organized at the Thalassery Municipality – Justice V. R. Krishnayy­er Memorial Stadium with the cooperation of the Kannur District Athletics Association and the State Athletics Association. Ideal clinched the state title by securing 381 points. The reigning champions of State Kids Athletics, Ideal Kadakassery, had also won the State Championship held in Thrissur last year and the State Open Kids Championship held in Kozhikode this year. After dividing the state into two zones, the North Zone competition—from Palakkad district to Kasaragod district—was conducted in Kannur. Under the leadership of Sports Department Head Shafi Ammayath, Principal Priya Aravind, Supriya Unnikrishnan, and Bindu Prakash, the coaching team comprised Haris Rahman, E. Thasni, Haneena, Lubna Basheer, and Daniya Mathew. St. Elizabeth English School, Thrissur district, finished as First Runner-up with 304 points, while Sapphire Central School, Kozhikode, secured Second Runner-up with 295 points.
St. Martin’s English School, Palakkad, stood fourth with 272 points, and MES Central School, Malappuram, finished fifth with 268 points. The championship was inaugurated by Municipal Chairperson Karayi Chandran, and the prize distribution was carried out by Kannur District Sports Council President P. M. Akhil.
